Beautiful spacious cottages, offering a wealth of character
The Star is made up of a row of three delightful, traditional Derbyshire cottages which have been transformed to offer an exclusive venue ideal for groups of up to 18 adult guests (or 28 guests including children.)
The Star is perfect for families wanting to explore the Peak District from a luxury base full of character.
Lots of style and thought has been put into this fabulous renovation resulting in a venue with a fascinating history, oodles of character and charm. The properties in total have nine bedrooms (all of which can be either twins or superking doubles and some rooms are family rooms) with 2 x family bathrooms and 6 en suites. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax in with a choice of cosy living rooms with log-burning stoves to spacious, quirky spaces with old-fashioned billiards table offering you the flexibility of all being together or finding your own space if you wish. However, the real focal point of the property is the fabulous open plan kitchen/dining room with sunken conservatory- a hexagonal shaped room with a glass ceiling creating a bright and airy space dining space for up to 24 guests.
Outside there is a lovely maintained garden which is landscaped on different levels with a flagged terraced directly outside the main house. Steps from the terrace lead down to a lawned area which further leads to a lower level offering a totally private patio area that creates a lovely intimate space for outdoor dining and socialising.
The location of the Star is second to none, located in the delightful village of Taddington which is slap bang in the heart of the Peak District, equidistant between the ancient market town of Bakewell and the historic spa town of Buxton. There is plenty of fantastic walks to do from your doorstep, which explore the amazing surrounding countryside, the limestone way even passes through the village of Taddington.
Indoors
There are nine fabulous bedrooms in total in the three separate dwellings. Groups come in all shapes and sizes and have different requirements so there is a mix of doubles, twins and bunk beds so you can pick and choose your layout to suit. The cottages are set up as follows:

• Star House (sleeps 10 adults or 16 as a family with children)
• Star Barn (sleeps 4 adults or 6 as a family with children)
Beds are made up for your arrival and for added comfort we provide each guest with fresh towels, hand soap and shower gel.
Outdoors
A lovely maintained garden which is landscaped on different levels with a flagged terrace directly outside the main house. There is a large oil drum barbecue (please bring your own charcoal and lighting equipment) and 4 picnic benches making it perfect for alfresco dining.
Local Area
Taddington itself is very well located and sits midway between the popular market town of Bakewell and the historic spa town of Buxton and is set in some glorious Peakland scenery. From your door step you can walk a spectacular variety of scenic routes including the Limestone Way which passes right through the village.
