Christchurch Har­bour, the Riv­er Avon and the Riv­er Stour, are lit­er­al­ly on your doorstep and pro­vide some of the best fish­ing in the UK. Water based sports, par­tic­u­lar­ly canoe­ing, wind­surf­ing and sail­ing are all avail­able local­ly. Excel­lent beach­es can be found with­in a few miles at Hengist­bury Head, Mude­ford, South­bourne and Bournemouth. The New For­est Nation­al Park is with­in 5 miles. As well as the excel­lent shop­ping facil­i­ties of Christchurch, larg­er shop­ping cen­tres are locat­ed in Bournemouth (7 miles) and Southamp­ton (20 miles)
