11 bedroom manor house on the banks of the River Monnow — sleeps 6 – 24

Monmouth, Monmouthshire

This 11 bedroom manor house on the banks of the River Monnow gives holidaymakers a perfect blend of town and country comfort with acres of space, river views, walks to pubs, swimming and fishing from your own garden, a games room and hot tub.

COVID19 UPDATE — Our properties in Wales are open.

Although Covid restrictions prevent us from renting out our houses to large groups at present, we can adapt and change to fit with the ever-changing guidelines we are issued at short notice. It is therefore a fantastic time for smaller groups of holidaymakers to take advantage of some late deals at our large properties.

At The Manor you will have full use of the common areas (lounge, kitchen, dining room and games room) plus enough bedrooms for your guests whether it be doubles, twins or family rooms you require. You can also still make use of the outdoor areas and hot tub. All at a much reduced cost!

For holidays between now and the end of January 2021 our prices for a group of 6 start from;

£900 for a 3 night midweek break

£1200 for a 3 night weekend

£1800 for a 7 night week

Christmas (2128 Dec) and New Year (29 Dec — 4 Jan) breaks are also still available from £3250. Please do get in touch with us on 01600 732050 to see what we can offer you.

Located at the end of a private lane on the east bank of the River Monnow in a 2 acre plot, yet only a 10 minute walk into the heart of the beautiful border town of Monmouth, the Manor offers the very best in combined town and country group self catering in the picturesque Wye Valley.

We’ve converted this glorious mansion to provide the space, location and facilities which will ensure you have a genuinely memorable holiday.

Indoors there’s more than enough space to sleep 24, with a couple of cots for the under 3’s. 9 of the bedrooms have their own bathroom whilst 2 share two further family bathrooms. The ground floor houses an easy access twin room (equally helpful for the elderly, partially-abled, or simply those who don’t like stairs) with it’s own loo and shower room nearby.

The Great hall has a wood burner, satellite TV, DVD player and music system, while the dining room comfortably accommodates 24 round the table. The kitchen and breakfast room make entertaining a breeze.

On site, there’s plenty to keep everybody amused: a games room with table tennis, pool, table football and more; a hot tub to unwind after a day’s walking, canoeing or cycling in the nearby Wye Valley and Forest of Dean; a well equipped playground; a barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating where you can relax and listen to the River Monnow slowly wind its way downstream to join the River Wye. Is there much to do? Take a look at the tourist information website.

The nearby facilities are superb: 10 minutes walk will take you to a half a dozen excellent pubs, an organic restaurant, an Indian restaurant , and the Monnow Trail for fantastic walking.

5 minutes drive will take you into the heart of the Forest of Dean with its staggering array of activities for people of every age and interest. If that’s not enough, you’re only 10 minutes drive from Symonds Yat, and Ross on Wye, with numerous award winning options for dining out.

If the Welsh Borders, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is your self catering group holiday of choice, look no further — River Wye Lodge has everything you need, relaxation incarnate. Come and enjoy youselves.

Imagine a private riverside space in the heart of a beautiful market town and that’s what you get with the Manor on the Monnow. The Manor is surrounded by private land, bordered by a river where you can fish and swim, and a garden with a covered hot tub, large terrace with barbecue and garden furniture, protected from the elements by house and trees. It’s very special and very private, but you can be in the pubs, restaurants and shops of Monmouth within a 10 minute walk.
