Stun­ning unique self cater­ing group venue per­fect for large groups, sleep­ing from 2434 peo­ple. Guests have exclu­sive use of their own con­vert­ed pub! We have ren­o­vat­ed The Green Man from a pub to cre­ate a very dif­fer­ent self cater­ing venue which is a sim­i­lar con­cept to our ever pop­u­lar prop­er­ty called The Crewe & Harpur .

We also know that one of the most impor­tant aspect of a group book­ing is to be able to com­fort­ably dine and socialise togeth­er and the spa­cious din­ing room meets these require­ment eas­i­ly also offer­ing flex­i­ble lay­outs depend­ing on guest numbers.

We have fit­ted a design­er fit­ted kitchen with gran­ite work sur­faces, Amer­i­can fridge/​freezer and all mod cons and equip­ment so you can eas­i­ly cater for large groups.

There is so much com­mu­nal space for you to enjoy large social gath­er­ings and for added enter­tain­ment we have added a 72 inch flat screen TV, games room with pool table and dart board.

We know that all groups have dif­fer­ent needs and there­fore we have designed The Green Man to offer flex­i­ble accom­mo­da­tion for groups of 24 to 34 guests. There are 13 spa­cious bed­rooms one of which is a sin­gle room and is slight­ly more com­pact. All bed­rooms have been designed and indi­vid­u­al­ly dec­o­rat­ed. There are plen­ty of fit­ted bathrooms/​en suites too.

The Green Man is locat­ed on the south­ern tip of the Peak Dis­trict with bril­liant access, with­in 10 min­utes dri­ve to Alton Tow­ers, Dovedale, Ash­bourne, Leek, Uttox­eter Races, Illam and Hartington.

Out­side there is a patio with BBQ area, a pri­vate gar­den and ample parking.

Indoors

Step into the expan­sive ground floor of The Green Man, where the orig­i­nal bar area takes cen­ter stage, cre­at­ing an unfor­get­table focal point for your stay. Gath­er around the invit­ing wood-burn­ing stove, pour your own drinks, and perch on a barstool at the fab­u­lous orig­i­nal bar. Enter­tain­ment awaits just steps away, as the bar area seam­less­ly tran­si­tions into a well-appoint­ed games room fea­tur­ing a pool table and dart­board. Addi­tion­al­ly, a lounge area with arm­chairs and leather sofas offers a cosy retreat. 

Ide­al for groups look­ing to self-cater, the gen­er­ous­ly sized mod­ern fit­ted kitchen pro­vides ample stor­age, along with a com­pre­hen­sive col­lec­tion of crock­ery, cut­lery, pots, and pans. It’s equipped with all the mod­ern con­ve­niences need­ed for a seam­less cook­ing expe­ri­ence. The din­ing room, adorned with orig­i­nal Cruck­’d beams, cre­ates a charm­ing open-plan space for group meals. Local crafts­man­ship is evi­dent in the sol­id oak tables, bench­es, and chairs, offer­ing flex­i­ble lay­outs to accom­mo­date vary­ing group sizes. As the evening unfolds, trans­form the din­ing room into a cin­e­ma room with a 72-inch wall-mount­ed TV for post-din­ner enter­tain­ment. For more infor­mal meals, an open-plan room lead­ing off the kitchen fea­tures a large farm­house table and bench­es, pro­vid­ing addi­tion­al din­ing space.

Set over 3 floors the Green Man has 13 spa­cious, light and airy bed­rooms, styled with neu­tral décor, and coor­di­nat­ing fur­nish­ings, 12 of the bed­rooms are very spa­cious sleep­ing between 2 – 4 guests with 1 com­pact room sleep­ing 1 per­son (bed­room 9).

A ter­race area leads out from the din­ing room. There is a large lawned gar­den with BBQ. There is a large car park with ample pri­vate parking.

Local Area

The rich diver­si­ty of the scenery has been attract­ing vis­i­tors to Der­byshire and the Peak Dis­trict for many cen­turies, so much so that The Peak Nation­al Park is the sec­ond most vis­it­ed Park in the World. But, it is not just for the beau­ty of its land­scapes that peo­ple come.

There are many trea­sures to be found in the area the grand­est of which is Chatsworth House, set in beau­ti­ful park­land it attracts vis­i­tors from all over the world.

Theme parks such as Alton Tow­ers (just 7.5 miles away from The Green Man) that pro­vide enough excite­ment even for the most ardent fun seek­er, show cav­erns, an owl and otter sanc­tu­ary, inter­est­ing muse­ums and ancient cas­tles are just a small part of the regions attractions.

The Peak Dis­trict offers enchant­i­ng vil­lages, his­toric towns such as Bux­ton, Ash­bourne, Leek and Bakewell and glo­ri­ous ever chang­ing land­scapes are all close by. Per­haps best known as walk­ing coun­try, the Peak Dis­trict Nation­al Park offers a spec­tac­u­lar vari­ety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep sided lime­stone dales to the dra­mat­ic high moor­lands. There is some­thing for every­one – indi­vid­u­als, fam­i­lies and groups – whether you want a chal­leng­ing hike or a short stroll.
