Stunning unique self catering group venue perfect for large groups, sleeping from 24 – 34 people. Guests have exclusive use of their own converted pub! We have renovated The Green Man from a pub to create a very different self catering venue which is a similar concept to our ever popular property called The Crewe & Harpur .
We also know that one of the most important aspect of a group booking is to be able to comfortably dine and socialise together and the spacious dining room meets these requirement easily also offering flexible layouts depending on guest numbers.
We have fitted a designer fitted kitchen with granite work surfaces, American fridge/freezer and all mod cons and equipment so you can easily cater for large groups.
There is so much communal space for you to enjoy large social gatherings and for added entertainment we have added a 72 inch flat screen TV, games room with pool table and dart board.
We know that all groups have different needs and therefore we have designed The Green Man to offer flexible accommodation for groups of 24 to 34 guests. There are 13 spacious bedrooms one of which is a single room and is slightly more compact. All bedrooms have been designed and individually decorated. There are plenty of fitted bathrooms/en suites too.
The Green Man is located on the southern tip of the Peak District with brilliant access, within 10 minutes drive to Alton Towers, Dovedale, Ashbourne, Leek, Uttoxeter Races, Illam and Hartington.
Outside there is a patio with BBQ area, a private garden and ample parking.

Step into the expansive ground floor of The Green Man, where the original bar area takes center stage, creating an unforgettable focal point for your stay. Gather around the inviting wood-burning stove, pour your own drinks, and perch on a barstool at the fabulous original bar. Entertainment awaits just steps away, as the bar area seamlessly transitions into a well-appointed games room featuring a pool table and dartboard. Additionally, a lounge area with armchairs and leather sofas offers a cosy retreat.
Ideal for groups looking to self-cater, the generously sized modern fitted kitchen provides ample storage, along with a comprehensive collection of crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans. It’s equipped with all the modern conveniences needed for a seamless cooking experience. The dining room, adorned with original Cruck’d beams, creates a charming open-plan space for group meals. Local craftsmanship is evident in the solid oak tables, benches, and chairs, offering flexible layouts to accommodate varying group sizes. As the evening unfolds, transform the dining room into a cinema room with a 72-inch wall-mounted TV for post-dinner entertainment. For more informal meals, an open-plan room leading off the kitchen features a large farmhouse table and benches, providing additional dining space.
Set over 3 floors the Green Man has 13 spacious, light and airy bedrooms, styled with neutral décor, and coordinating furnishings, 12 of the bedrooms are very spacious sleeping between 2 – 4 guests with 1 compact room sleeping 1 person (bedroom 9).

A terrace area leads out from the dining room. There is a large lawned garden with BBQ. There is a large car park with ample private parking.
Local Area
The rich diversity of the scenery has been attracting visitors to Derbyshire and the Peak District for many centuries, so much so that The Peak National Park is the second most visited Park in the World. But, it is not just for the beauty of its landscapes that people come.
There are many treasures to be found in the area the grandest of which is Chatsworth House, set in beautiful parkland it attracts visitors from all over the world.
Theme parks such as Alton Towers (just 7.5 miles away from The Green Man) that provide enough excitement even for the most ardent fun seeker, show caverns, an owl and otter sanctuary, interesting museums and ancient castles are just a small part of the regions attractions.
The Peak District offers enchanting villages, historic towns such as Buxton, Ashbourne, Leek and Bakewell and glorious ever changing landscapes are all close by. Perhaps best known as walking country, the Peak District National Park offers a spectacular variety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep sided limestone dales to the dramatic high moorlands. There is something for everyone – individuals, families and groups – whether you want a challenging hike or a short stroll.
