Behind Symonds­bury Manor’s mel­low stone walls and mul­lioned win­dows lies a sur­pris­ing dis­cov­ery: a fresh, cre­ative inte­ri­or full of colour and play­ful charm. The atmos­phere of this spe­cial place always makes for a great house party. 

Up to 22 friends and fam­i­ly can spread across 11 bed­rooms, sleep­ing in plump beds under white linen. Light streams into the huge open-plan liv­ing space where every­one can gath­er com­fort­ably togeth­er to eat,drink and gen­er­al­ly celebrate.

Through­out the house, there are intrest­ing pictures,books,vintage fur­ni­ture and hand print­ed wall­pa­pers at ever­ty turn. Out­side, there’s a cou­ple of acres or more of gar­dens and orchard to explore, with chan­de­liers in trees and a cro­quet set to unpack. Beyond the old stone gar­den walls is the pic­ture per­fect thatched vil­lage of Symonds­bury, with wel­com­ing pub,shop and café.

Trav­el just a mile and you meet the sea. Along this stretch of the Dorset Juras­sic coast, there are spec­tac­u­lar walks along cliff tops and beach­es, plus fos­sil hunt­ing too. A mile in the oth­er direc­tion takes you to bustling Brid­port, famed for its street mar­ket of antiques, arti­sanal craft and local pro­duce. The loca­tion of this mag­i­cal house could not be more perfect.

Symonds­bury Manor is styl­ish­ly dec­o­rat­ed with hand print­ed wall­pa­pers, paint­ings and inter­est­ing furniture. 
The house has sev­en dou­ble-bed­ded rooms (two with four posters) and 4 twin-bed­ded rooms. One of the dou­ble-bed­ded rooms also has two extra beds so can either serve as a fur­ther twin-bed­ded room or as a fam­i­ly room. 
There are 9 bath­room facil­i­ties, 5 of which are en suite.
The com­fort­able liv­ing room is six­ty feet long with a large table at one end that seats twen­ty four, and a wood­burn­ing stove and views over the gar­den at the other.

Local Area

Symonds­bury is a short dri­ve from his­toric Lyme Reg­is, an unspoiled sea­side resort and fish­ing port on the world famous Cobb har­bour. Sur­round­ed by beau­ti­ful coast­lines and coun­try­side, famous for its geol­o­gy and fos­sil finds, the area has now been award­ed World Her­itage Site Sta­tus. Brid­port, the near­est town, is a mile and a half away. It has large street mar­kets twice a week sell­ing fruit and veg­eta­bles, antiques, bric-à-brac and local crafts. Golf, horse-rid­ing, sail­ing, swin­m­ming and div­ing facil­i­ties are with­in easy reach. There is a wide choice of restau­rants near­by (sev­er­al run by celebri­ty chefs’), and good pubs includ­ing one in Symonds­bury only 100 metres from the Manor.
