This stun­ning town­house, built in 1670 is the per­fect venue for sophis­ti­cat­ed hen week­ends, friends and fam­i­ly get-togeth­ers or cor­po­rate retreats. The house has a max­i­mum of 9 bed­rooms, all en-suite with gor­geous recep­tion rooms, brim­ming with peri­od fea­tures. The indoor heat­ed pool is in the Roman style, while the hand built sub­ter­ranean hot tub shim­mers in its own mid­night star­ry gar­den — tru­ly there is nowhere else like it!

Each bed­room is dec­o­rat­ed in a fan­ta­sy style with beau­ti­ful beds, antiques and each has a pri­vate bath­room. The recep­tion rooms are ele­gant and sophis­ti­cat­ed. There is a smart TV, Wifi & sound system.

Sit­u­at­ed at the top of the live­ly high street of a charm­ing Cotswold town, you are just a short walk to a great selec­tion of restau­rants, bars, shops and pubs. Near­by Bath and Bris­tol pro­vide the activ­i­ties and nightlife to make your break unforgettable.

The Roman Spa House was built in the reign of King Charles II in 1670. It sits at the top of the high street in the charm­ing and live­ly mar­ket town of Chip­ping Sod­bury and the house is per­fect­ly locat­ed for sophis­ti­cat­ed hen week­ends and cor­po­rate breaks. 

Built on the site of a Tudor house, Rounce­val Town­house is a detached, restora­tion prop­er­ty with fab­u­lous orig­i­nal fea­tures and an inter­est­ing his­to­ry hav­ing once been the res­i­dence of the Lord of the Manor and thus one of the prin­ci­pal hous­es in the town.

The guest accom­mo­da­tion is access set over four floors. In addi­tion to the nine en-suite bed­rooms, the house has two stun­ning sit­ting rooms, with TV and Bose iPod dock a spa­cious din­ing room which is large enough for the whole group and the kitchen is ful­ly equipped with dou­ble oven, hob, microwave, dish­wash­er, large larder fridge, Nespres­so cof­fee machine and ice maker.

The nine lux­u­ri­ous­ly designed en-suite bed­rooms sleep 28+ guests and the rooms have been beau­ti­ful­ly dec­o­rat­ed to reflect their themes: The crys­tal room with chan­de­liers and a wall of mir­rors, the French room with huge sleigh bed, the King’s Suite with inter­con­nect­ing rooms and a mag­nif­i­cent Louis XIV bed, Ophe­lia, fur­nished in Goth­ic style and the Squire’s Room. The Mas­ters room and Cotswold room are pret­ty rooms with peri­od features.

The Roman Spa pool and spa

The indoor heat­ed pool reflects a gar­den in Ancient Rome and the Roman Spa has been cre­at­ed as a har­mo­nious and relax­ing envi­ron­ment with sub­tle light­ing, set with­in a sub­ter­ranean gar­den. The large Spa bath can seat 10 guests and it is heat­ed to a con­stant 39 degrees with a gen­tly rip­pling wave effect.The hang­ing gar­den has light­ing, roman stat­ues and a foun­tain with the large hot tub as its focal point.

Local Area

The high street has a num­ber of restau­rants includ­ing the excel­lent Amigo’s Mex­i­can (01454 327100) and the Squire pub with fine din­ing (312121). Also with­in walk­ing dis­tance a Chi­nese, Thai, PanAsian and fish and chip take away. The Ital­ian restau­rant next door serves take away piz­zas. There are tra­di­tion­al pubs, togeth­er with attrac­tive shops and a Wait­rose, all with­in a few min­utes walk of the house.

The World Her­itage cen­tre of Bath with its fine archi­tec­ture, fab­u­lous shops and amaz­ing nightlife is only about 20 min­utes by car, and Bris­tol with its the­atres, water­front and Cabot Cir­cus shop­ping cen­tre being rough­ly equidistant.

Cineworld is a large cin­e­ma com­plex a short walk away and Wait­rose and Tesco are close by.

A great selec­tion of activ­i­ties are avail­able in the local area.
