Hard­cragg Hall has wel­comed vis­i­tors for over 400 years, includ­ing Beat­rix Pot­ter who was a fre­quent guest to the Hall and Oliv­er Cromwell was also reput­ed to have vis­it­ed between mil­i­tary excursions.

Guest can enjoy the peace and tran­quil­li­ty the house has to offer the moment they cross the thresh­old. Dat­ing back to 1563 this grade II list­ed coun­try Manor house has oak pan­elled rooms, mul­lioned win­dows and log fires. The Hall has sev­er­al spa­cious recep­tion rooms that inter­con­nect, includ­ing a din­ing room, draw­ing room, break­fast room, snug and impres­sive entrance hall. The clas­sic farm­house kitchen boasts a four oven Aga, gas hob, and dou­ble oven. With a util­i­ty room equipped with wash­ing machine, tum­ble dry­er, freez­er and bags more space. The rooms are lux­u­ri­ous, many with sea views, all with colour TV’s.


Hard­cragg Hall sits in its own peace­ful acre gar­den, seclud­ed in the cen­tre of Grange over Sands. The delight­ful grounds are ful­ly enclosed and have superb panoram­ic views of More­cambe Bay.Hardcragg Hall has two out­door seat­ing areas with pel­nty of out­door tables and chsirs to seat 14 there is also 2 qual­i­ty char­coal bar­be­ques to enjoy in fine weather.

Ide­al­ly locat­ed on the edge of the South­ern Lake dis­trict, Grange over Sands is a secret gem. The prin­ci­ple sea side town of South Lake­land, it is a per­fect loca­tion for scenic fell and wood­land walks, togeth­er with a mile long traf­fic free prom­e­nade over­look­ing the sands of More­cambe Bay. There are 2 golf cours­es, award win­ning cafes, butch­ers, bak­eries, shops, pubs, restau­rants, banks, post office and rail­way sta­tion all with­in min­utes walk. The his­toric 12th Cen­tu­ry Cart­mel pri­o­ry is just over the hill and if your inter­ests are more eques­tri­an, the ever pop­u­lar Cart­mel races are run sev­er­al times a year. Alter­na­tive­ly why not vis­it the Miche­lin starred restau­rant or the local real ale pubs. Hard­cragg Hall is the per­fect cen­tre for vis­it­ing the Lake Dis­trict nation­al park. Lake Win­der­mere is only 15minutes dri­ve away. But how pleas­ant at the end of the day to return to this calm and peace­ful home.
