Cumbria wins 'Britains favourite view' :: 10th September, 2007
Wastwater in Cumbria has been voted as Britain's favourite view after the public chose from four different landscape finalists. The lake district beauty spot beat Bamburgh Castle in England, Three Cliffs Bay in Wales and The Mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland in voting by viewers of the ITV series Britain's Favourite View.
The ITV series had celebrities from the likes of Janet Street Porter and Katherine Jenkins extolling the virtues of 16 popular views around Britain. Among those to have been short listed were Stonehenge, St Ives, Swaledale, Waterloo Bridge, and Blackpool.
Why not take the opportunity to go and visit ‘Britain’s Favourite View’ with a group of friends and stay in one of our many properties available in Cumbria.
