The house has been extensively refurbished and comprises eight bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a sitting room, dining room and newly-fitted kitchen. Maximum sleeping capacity is twenty-three. The doors of the living room and the kitchen lead onto the terrace which stretches almost the width of the house and overlooks the gardens.

The swimming pool area tends to be the focal point of the holiday for guests, both during the day and in the evening. The 14m x 6.5m heated pool is surrounded by a large patio area with mature palm trees. The pool is floodlit at night and provides an idyllic location for alfresco dining or a late night swim. There is a built-in barbecue on the patio and plenty of seating and tables. The house sits in 2 acres of mature gardens. There is a sandpit and swings for children to play on.

The closest restaurant, boulangerie and general store is within 2 kilometres. The surrounding region is of gently rolling countryside, beautiful lakes and the forested areas along with scatterings of picturesque villages, such as the medieval village of Vouvant (11km) recently voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. Only an hour's drive from Poitiers (home of Futuroscope) and the impressive coastal towns of La Rochelle and Les Sables dOlonne, the setting for this impressive property is perfect for a secluded holiday. Within easy reach are golf courses, lakeside beaches, sailing, fishing and horse riding.There is a VTT station nearby and it is an ideal location for cycling. Many of the nearby villages have their own summer fetes and market days along with excellent, good-value cuisine that typifies rural France. The area is rich in history and boasts the second sunniest climate in France with as many hours of sunshine as the Mediterranean coast.
